Repetition print project selections from dye class
My dye class students presented a project i call Repetition: in which you need an image repeated multiple times. This could be a screenprint, a block print, a digital textile print, etc. Here are some of their results:
Block printed floral design on bamboo rayon by first year grad Danielle Soldat. Danielle's hand-carved blocks are also shown, which she used in a range of combinations to create a border motif around the hem of a circle skirt.
One of several 2-color (2-screen) jellyfish screenprints which second-year grad Erin Torkelson printed onto her undersea-themed shibori fabric!
Wave border design screenprinted by second-year grad Michelle Bentley, taken from a painting by Katsushika Hokusai.
Second-year grad Robin Ankerich watercolored some floral motifs at left, and then digitally manipulated them in Illustrator to create the Spoonflower print swatch at right!
Robin also did a two-color screenprint with thickened dye paste on this pink cotton/spandex fabric. Cute!
