Classical ballet tutus by our 2018 MFAs
Apparently, tutu-making is a dying art, with skilled makers in such short supply that the UK has launched a training program specifically to fill the ranks. But at UNC-Chapel Hill, all of our MFAs graduate with experience in classical plate tutu making. Have a look at the work of our three most recent graduates:
Sweet rustic tutu/ballet bodice made and modeled by Robin Ankerich
Black swan tutu/ballet bodice by Michelle Bentley
(model: Robin Ankerich)
Red/white tutu/ballet bodice by Erin Torkelson
(model: Robin Ankerich)
Lovely work, no? This class was lucky to have a ballerina in the group!
