Magazine Review: We Are Makers
I ordered a copy of this quarterly magazine, We Are Makers, and I loved it so much I immediately subscribed.
Each issue features profiles of makers, artisans, craftspeople all over the world, creating objects as diverse as canoe paddles, frying pans, textile art, and hats. I admit that I bought my copy because of the featured hatmakers in Spain, but I loved reading the profiles of all included artists.
The folks behind this magazine are based in Scotland, and they seem to have started a multimedia focus on artisanship, in that they also have a podcast, an Instagram account, and award grants to makers on a regular basis.
Highly recommended! Check it out if this sounds exciting to you.
